The body of Christ is caring for a widow whose family rejected her for her faith in Christ. Toon Simom, 73, is a widow from a Laotian minority group and has followed Christ for five years. She had lived with her only daughter, Thon, since Toon's husband died in 2006.

God of All Comfort, we lift up Toon Simom and the believers in Laos who now care for her after she was cast out by her family. You are near to the brokenhearted and save those crushed in spirit. We ask You to strengthen the church around her, equipping them to provide for Toon and others rejected for faith in Jesus. Pour out Your Spirit upon these communities, so that they may embody true religion by looking after widows in their distress. Open the hearts of those who have turned away, that they might be drawn to Your kindness. Reveal Jesus to those who scorned her decision to follow Him, and let many come to know His saving grace. We ask all this for the glory of Your name. Amen.
