About Watchman Wire
Watchman Wire is a daily news service for the global persecuted church, published by Patmos Education Group, LLC. We exist so that the suffering, endurance, and faith of Christians under persecution are seen — and prayed for.
“I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night.” — Isaiah 62:6
What we publish
Each day we gather dispatches on persecution, martyrdom, testimony, and religious freedom from hundreds of sources — vetted outlets we monitor continually, and reporting our contributors review by hand and send in. Every dispatch names its source and links to the original reporting.
Because we believe the news and the response belong together, we pair the reporting with prayer: an original prayer of intercession published every day for believers in a specific place, and scripture-rooted prayers attached to many of the dispatches themselves.
From time to time we also write in our own voice — editorials, analysis, and commentary that step back from the day's headlines to consider what they mean for the church. These are written by people who have served on the ground in the regions we cover and by contributors whose combined experience in missions and religious-freedom work spans more than a century. When we write, the byline is ours; we never blur the line between our own writing and the reporting we aggregate.
Who we are
Watchman Wire is published by Patmos Education Group, LLC.
Eugene Banks — Editor-in-Chief
Eugene leads Watchman Wire's editorial operation. He brings more than twenty-five years of experience across writing, software development, and — most recently — applied AI, grounded in a background in intercultural studies. He sets the wire's editorial standards and curates its daily coverage.
William J. Dubois — Contributor
For more than thirty years, William has equipped first-generation followers of Jesus to grow in their leadership and multiply house churches. He holds a graduate degree from Yale University and has spent decades writing and contributing to the international conversation.
Joseph Myers — Contributor
Joseph specializes in geopolitical research and demographics, with particular focus on rural, overlooked, and unreached peoples — the communities least visible to global reporting.
Fair use, deliberately
We are an aggregator that sends readers to the journalists and researchers doing the work. Excerpts never exceed 280 characters — a limit we enforce in our own database. Headlines link to the original article, article bodies are never reproduced, and images are referenced from the source rather than copied. If you represent a source and have a concern about how your reporting appears here, write to us and we will resolve it promptly.
The same goes for mistakes: if we publish something inaccurate, tell us and we will correct it promptly. Corrections are made in place, without fanfare and without excuses.
