Pray with the global church

Lord of Hosts, we bring before You the tragedy that unfolded at the abbey in Poland. A priest's life was taken, and others were wounded; violence has visited a place meant for peace. You are close to the brokenhearted, and we ask You to comfort those who mourn and heal those who bear wounds, seen and unseen. Restrain the forces of violence and fear that seek to disrupt Your peace. Let the light of Jesus be made known even now in Poland, Ukraine, and beyond — especially touching the heart of the man who committed this act, that he may meet You like Saul on his road. Raise up a witness in this dark hour among believers in Poland, strengthening them to hold firm with love and truth. Your promises stand as a refuge; may they find strength in Your unchanging word. All glory is Yours, through Jesus our Savior. Amen.
