God of all Comfort, we lift up the Diocese of Torit where two Carmelites have survived an ambush on the Juba–Torit highway. Thank You for Your hand of protection over them in this dangerous place. You promise to be a refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble—be that to all who travel this road. Reveal Jesus as the light of the world to the armed bandits and those who harbor violence in their hearts, that they may turn from their ways and find peace. Strengthen the believers in South Sudan to stand firm in the faith and to be vessels of Your love and reconciliation. We trust in Your faithfulness, knowing that You are near to the brokenhearted and save the crushed in spirit. For Your glory and the advancement of Your kingdom we pray, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
