Pray with the global church

God of Mercy, we lift before You the church in Shanghai, shaken by the arrest of their leader during a Sunday worship service. The authorities have attempted to scatter them, yet You have said that where two or three are gathered in Your name, there You are with them. Guard these believers in Shanghai as they continue to gather in Your presence. Dismantle the forces that seek to intimidate and silence their worship, and reveal Jesus to the officials who see only threats instead of grace. Strengthen those facing trials and persecution for Your sake, and let their faith stand firm. Establish Your peace and Your truth in this land. We ask this through Jesus our Lord, trusting in Your unfailing love. Amen.
