Pray with the global church

God of the Storm and the Stillness, we lift before You the lands of East Africa and Asia as they brace for the impact of a record-strength El Niño. In Your power, You have spoken to the wind and the waves, and they have obeyed. We ask You to still the chaos that threatens these regions and protect the vulnerable from floods and hunger. Guard the fields and homes of the people in Somalia and Pakistan, and let their harvests not be destroyed. Reveal Jesus to those who have not yet known Him, that even in calamity, hearts may turn to find refuge in Your everlasting arms. Strengthen the hands of aid workers, and let Your mercy flow through every act of kindness. For the sake of Your glory and the salvation of many, we entrust these lands to Your care, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
