Pray with the global church

Almighty God, we bring before You the pastors in the refugee camp in South Sudan who face death threats amid turmoil. Be their refuge and fortress, a present help in trouble when fear surrounds them. Strengthen these shepherds to remain bold as they declare the Good News of Jesus Christ in their midst. Draw near to those who threaten them, opening hearts to hear and see the grace that has appeared bringing salvation for all people. Deliver these communities from the shadow of death, and let light shine where darkness seeks to prevail. You break the bow and shatter the spear — extend Your peace over this land. In Your unfailing love, may the persecuted and persecutors alike know Your transforming power. We trust in Your great mercy, through Jesus our Lord. Amen.
