Pray with the global church

God of Justice and Compassion, we lift up the town of Heban in Sudan, where violence has taken the lives of a pastor and six others. You see the injustice that has been wrought, and Your heart is close to the brokenhearted and those crushed in spirit. Establish Your peace in the Nuba Mountains and bring comfort to the families mourning their loved ones. Restrain the hand of violence that seeks to destroy, and reveal Jesus to the persecutors and officials who have not yet known Your mercy. Strengthen the believers in Sudan to stand firm in faith, and let Your light shine through them in the darkness. For the sake of Your name and for the healing of this land, we pray. Amen.
