Pray with the global church

Lord God, we lift up the land of Nigeria where the blood of Your saints cries out. You have seen the affliction and the suffering, and we ask You to look on this sorrow and remember mercy. Strengthen the believers in Benue and beyond who face relentless threats and violence; be their refuge and their fortress as they trust in You. Reveal Jesus to those bent on persecution, that even as Saul was turned from persecutor to apostle, so may hearts be transformed by Your grace. Deliver those who are caught in violence, restrain the hands that seek to shed innocent blood, and let justice roll down like waters. We trust in Your promise that the needy shall not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the poor perish forever. For the glory of Your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
