Pray with the global church

Maker of Heaven and Earth, we bring before You the situation in Jos where Lawrence Zongo, a Christian journalist, is held by the military. You see the oppression of Your people, and You hear their cry for justice. Deliver Lawrence from his captors and let truth rise even in places where darkness tries to hide it. Open the eyes of those who hold him, that they may see Jesus and be transformed by His light. Strengthen the believers in Nigeria as they face intimidation and threat — let them be wise as serpents and harmless as doves, bearing witness to Your love. Establish Your peace over Bassa, and protect families mourning from the violence of armed militants. Pour out grace that softens hearts hardened by conflict. Yours is the power to save to the uttermost, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
