Pray with the global church

King of Heaven, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the endurance You've granted to Toru Goto during his long years of unjust captivity in Japan. Your steadfast love is better than life itself, and it sustained him in every moment. Let his testimony ripple through places where faith faces confinement and fear. May his testimony be one that brings encouragement, joy, and faithfulness to the Lord. Strengthen believers around the world who are tempted to despair, make Your presence known in the shadows where others wait, and let hope rise in hearts weary from waiting. You have set the prisoner free — establish this freedom for many more still bound by oppression. Open doors for our brothers and sisters to have sight-lines to You and hearts to receive Your love. Reveal Jesus to their captors, that even they might find a new way. To You, who keeps watch over the path of the righteous, be all glory and honor through Christ our Savior. Amen.
