Pray with the global church

God of Justice and Compassion, we bring before You the Idoma people of Nigeria, who mourn the loss of their brothers and sisters laid to rest in a mass grave. You see their tears and hear their cries — be near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. Strengthen the believers in Otukpo and across Nigeria, that they may stand firm in the face of danger and not grow weary in doing good. Restrain the hands of those who perpetrate violence, and let Your peace take root where fear has reigned. Reveal Jesus to both attackers and officials, that they might turn from violence to the way of peace. Establish Your justice in the land, and let Your mercy flow like a river. We ask this through Christ our Lord, who is our hope and our peace. Amen.
