Pray with the global church

God of All Comfort, we bring before You the faithful life of Fr. Pier Luigi Maccalli and his unwavering trust in You during his detention in Mali. When he felt hemmed in on all sides, You sustained him with Your steadfast love that never ceases. Let Your truth be a refuge for those who remain captive there, and remind them of Your faithfulness even now. Reveal Jesus to their captors and to communities wrapped in fear and unrest. May Your light shine in the darkest places, and let freedom replace captivity where it yet lingers. We entrust this land into Your hands, asking that Your name be glorified through lives restored by grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
