Shepherd, we lift up the grieving parents in Borno State who long to see their abducted children returned home. They wait while struggling even to feed those still with them, surrounded by poverty and fear. You are near to the brokenhearted and know every tear they shed. Reveal Jesus in the midst of their distress, drawing near with hope and strength that cannot be shaken. Guard their hearts from despair, and let Your peace guard their minds amidst unanswered questions and unmet needs. Move the hearts of officials in Nigeria to hear the cries of these families, that rescue might come quickly. Let the light of Christ shine in every dark corner of terrorist camps, and call captors to repentance as You did Saul on the Damascus road. Turn this sorrow toward redemption for the sake of Your great name. Amen.
