Pray with the global church

God of all Comfort, we lift up the believers in Africa who have endured violence at the hands of those who oppose Your name. You see the suffering of Your people, and Your heart is drawn to the afflicted and brokenhearted. Strengthen the church across Africa to stand firm in the midst of trial and tribulation, and let their faith be like a light that shines in the darkness, not overcome by the night. Reveal Jesus to those who persecute and to the communities that witness their actions. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of those in fear and distress. Establish Your justice and mercy in these regions, that Your name may be revered among all peoples. In the hope of Christ's unending reign, we pray. Amen.
