Faithful Shepherd, we lift up the suffering members of Your Body around the world, longing for Your sustaining presence among them. You have promised that in their distress, You too are afflicted, and You hold them close to Your heart. Strengthen their spirits and let the light of Your face shine upon them in their places of trial. Reveal Jesus to their captors and those who persecute them, that their eyes might see the One who is gentle and humble in heart. Let the bonds of injustice fall away and make a way in the wilderness for Your people to walk in freedom and peace. For the glory of Your name and in the strength of the Spirit, we trust in Your unfailing love and mercy. Amen.
