Four people from the Kuki community were killed in two attacks in Manipur’s Tamenglong and Noney districts on Sunday, the same day the community observed Sahnit Ni, or Kuki Black Day, a solemn annual commemoration of civilians killed during the Kuki-Naga conflict of the 1990s.

God of All Comfort, we come before You with sorrowful hearts for the Kuki community in Manipur, mourning their loss amidst the violence that claimed four lives. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted — let these words take root in the hearts of grieving families and friends, bringing solace in their deep grief. Comfort them with Your presence, whispering peace over pain. Sustain the believers in Tamenglong and Noney as they wrestle with fear and loss, yet stand firm in faith. Reveal Jesus to those who carry out violence and hatred; transform even hardened hearts with the truth of Your love. Let Your church in Manipur remain a steadfast witness of hope and reconciliation. We entrust this wounded community to Your hands, trusting You to bring beauty out of ashes. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
