Lord of Hosts, we lift before You the pastor in Nigeria whose family is held by Boko Haram, facing threats and impossible demands. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble—rise up for this man and his loved ones in their hour of need. Guard his heart from fear as he waits on Your deliverance, and surround him with those who can help carry this burden. Meet his wife and daughter in captivity with Your presence that brings peace beyond understanding. Stretch forth Your hand to shatter the power of their captors; let their schemes come to nothing. Reveal Jesus to Boko Haram's members as the One who overcame sin and death. Call them out of darkness into Your marvelous light. For Your glory in Nigeria, through Christ our Redeemer, Amen.
